How Too Use Power Shell To Remove Connect App In Win10

Inactive profile

Hello i was wondering how do you get rid of this app called "connect" in windows 10, i don't need it, and when i go to app settings and try to click the uninstall button it doesn't let me, and when i open the app, it says my device isn't support or something like that anyways, so i don't need this app, and i wanna get rid of it for good. I also tried removing it by powershell but that doesn't work either, nothing works to get rid of this app, i also tried to terminate the app, but that also doesn't work. I really just wanna get rid of this app can someone help me?

Connect is part of the operating system and cannot be uninstalled. Just leave it be as it does not use up much disc space.

Microsoft has a bad history of connecting optional apps  to the operating system so you cannot remove them. For years they did this with that stupid Microsoft Messenger program (Mother of All Malware though it was) and now they stick us with this thing.

But you can make some adjustments to it

Right click it. Click more then click App Settings:

Make like Arnold and TERMINATE

Greg Carmack - Windows MVP 2010-2020

Hi Tyree. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 10 year Windows MVP here to help you.

To remove the Windows 10 Connect app see here:
https://winaero.com/blog/how-to-uninstall-and-r...

If that fails install the TechNet Uninstaller and load the Store apps, it will create a script to remove each one that doesn't have an Uninstaller button:
https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcen...

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

No one else can connect to your PC through the Connect app.

Merely because something is useless to you is no reason to get rid of it. Interfering with a supported configuration is one of the ways posters here get themselves into trouble (as I know through first-hand experience.)

Much of Windows 10 is useless to me: Cortana, Mail, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Store, System Restore, File History etc. etc. I just leave them along and ignore them. No harm comes to my computer, and my copy of Windows 10 runs great.

And it only takes up 16KB of disk space when unused (not setup for use).
